...
does not have a sound that can be compared
with other bands, I know that you’d like to have some
basis upon which to decide whether or not to get your tired asses off your
couch and check them out, but, my friend, there simply is none.
If you sit at home, watching MTV, hoping and praying for something
original, something that wasn’t done in 1984, only to be rejected in
1993, and then regurgitated in 2002, then this is a band you want to hear.
There is a subtle power
to their grace, an irony in their angst, a flow that jams through their
Los Angeles based, Texan bred racket that you have not heard before, at
least not from the mainstream. It's
pure and straight-forward like Rock n Roll should be, yet its got a kick
that probably won’t hit you until you leave the show- so, wherever you
catch them, try to pocket some salt and lime, because I’m talking
straight, no chaser, in your belly, brewing up a revolution.
That’s exactly what I mean. Somebody
has got to save Rock n’ Roll from the studio styled Southern California
pseudo punk and metal that has every suburbanite crying, “revolt” in
front of their daddy’s boat. This
music is not for 13 year olds; it’s
whiskey and coke with a firm grip and a gentle stroke- just what you need
to secure that Saturday night money shot, in the eye, or on the ceiling,
you’ll get the feeling that there’s something comin’, something
we’ve all been waiting for......... a movement, honey, that’s what I mean.
So, check it out if you’re cool, and fuck off if you're hip; cuz
hip is five minutes and cool is in no hurry.
